Today in open Source World Almost all Documentation is done through Wiki, My favorite one is Ubuntu Wiki.
And What happen when a marvelous technology from Google and Community Comes Together. WIkiMapia is the Online Version Of the Masterpiece Google Earth, (BTW google earth is Available on Linux too, Read here)
believe me It`s got better zooming capabilities than Google earth. I was able to zoom upto 200 ft over my House. :)

WikiMapia rightly says Let`s describe the whole Earth.

Just for clarification. WikiMapia is built on top of Google Maps which uses the same database as Google Earth. Google Earth will actually allow you to zoom in further than Google Maps (on the same photos).
The reason your house looks better is that Google recently updated their databases with 4 times as many places in high resolution.
